| Question 9: What types of vehicles does the Board regulate?
 The Board has  regulatory responsibilities related to the following types of vehicles:
 
  Private Passenger Automobiles - includes  typical cars and trucks driven for personal and/or limited business use on  public roadways by most individuals.  
            Commercial Vehicles - includes  vehicles designed or used primarily to transport materials, goods, tools or  equipment in connection with an occupation or business. 
            Miscellaneous Vehicles - includes  the following vehicles when used for personal use only: (i) motorcycles, (ii)  all-terrain vehicles, (iii) mopeds, (iv) snowmobiles, (v) trailer homes, (vi)  antique cars, and (vii) classic cars.  
            Public Vehicles - includes  vehicles used primarily to provide transportation services to the public such  as ambulances, daily rental vehicles, funeral hearses, private buses, public  buses, school buses and taxis.  Please note that  fleet-rated automobile insurance business is exempt from filing rates with the  Board. A fleet is defined as a group of at least 5 automobiles under common  ownership that satisfies the criteria set out in Regulations NLR 56/19.  |  | Navigation Menu Applications and Proceedings
